Does anyone think that Namame from “Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden” resembles Groot from “Guardians of the Galaxy”??? Both were introduced as giants, but eventually turned tiny later on.
Also to note, although Groot first appeared in Marvel comics in 1960, the idea of Baby Groot was very recent (2017). Namame first appeared in 2004 as a giant and then shortly afterwards as a tiny rock creature. In some ways, this can be said that Namame was a creation that came “before” the current incarnation of Groot. That being said, Yuu Watase is truly genius!
